As of 7 Oct 2026. "None found" means none found in our search, not proof that none exists. A * marks a date that is approximate or comes from a company announcement, because the exact date was not verified. Check the ESMA register before you act. Nothing here is investment advice.

Questions

Questions about MiCA and exchanges

Which crypto exchanges are authorized under MiCA?

Among the 10 exchanges in our audit, 8 have a MiCA authorization we could confirm: Crypto.com, OKX, Bitpanda, Bitstamp by Robinhood, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken and KuCoin. We found none in our search for Binance and Bitget.

Does a MiCA authorization mean an exchange is safe?

No. It is a license to offer crypto services in the EU under a set of rules. It does not measure security record, proof of reserves or past regulator actions. Our Exchange Rigor Report looks at those separately.

Where can I check an authorization myself?

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) publishes the register of authorized crypto-asset service providers, and national regulators publish their own. Each row above links the source we used.

Can Italian residents use these exchanges?

The column above shows whether the exchange states that it accepts Italian residents. The check of the Italian OAM register is pending for most exchanges because the register could not be read by automated tools.
